One Tree Hill charity basketball game

this morning was the One Tree Hill charity basketball game at Cape Fear and somehow, even though they sold out in less than 10 minutes, my friend Sarah and i both managed to get tickets. will call opened at 8 am so we thought we were being smart by leaving at 7:15. when we got there we heard that some people had been there since 3am. we met one girl who had driven down 12 hours from ohio WITHOUT a ticket, in hopes of scalping one. luckily she got one, but she was one of few. people were offering 100$ or more for 25$ tickets. when we got there at about 7:45 the line was already streatched around the front sidewalk and around the back of the building and there was a mob at the door waiting to get in when the doors opened at 10.

they auctioned off a photo with the cast. it went for 1000$. also, the rule was that all auctioned items had to be payed for with cash. yeah

a fan made an exact replica of brooke's house on the show and brough it to the game and then donated it to be auctioned off. the entire cast signed the roof. i think it went for 500$

a post with two parts

Part 1: Dub Stud

my friend Felts compted in the Dub Stud competition which is basically a male beauty pagent. each contestent represents a different organization on campus and he represented intervarsity.

the talent portion. felts and his roomate/intervarsity member tyler sang 'kiss the girl' from the little mermaid. it also involved violin.

Part 2: elevator music

there is no music in the elevator in belk, so we provide our own sometimes. that means sitting on the elevator with sarah and her ukelele and waiting for people to get on and then sara sings a made up song for them on the spot and we watch.

azalea festival

the azalea festival is kind of a big deal in wilmington, me and my friends went twice this weekend. it was basically a bunch of vendors and some games and live music and a lot of food set up in the streets downtown. i got funnel cake because places like this is really the only place to get it.
